MPL3D Solar System - это 3D симулятор космического пространства! Программа, основываясь на Каталоге HIPPARCOS, позволяет пользователю рассматривать объекты размерами от искусственных спутников до полных галактик в трёх измерениях, используя технологию OpenGL. В отличие от большинства других виртуальных планетариев, пользователь может свободно путешествовать по Вселенной. Планетарий показывает ВСЕ небесные тела нашей солнечной ситемы в 3D-режиме и реальном времени, позволяя наблюдать, преследовать и контролировать планеты, спутники и космические тела во время их движения в космосе. В программу занесено свыше 10.000 космических тел, включены различные эффекты для звездных и галактических систем (пульсации, катаклизмы, черные дыры и т.д.), реалистичные световые эффекты, планеты всей солнечной системы и их главные луны, астеризмы, изображения туманностей (полный Каталог Мессье), реалистичный Млечный Путь и многое другое.
